2014 WNC Fly Fishing Expo December 5 & 6
The 6th Annual WNC Fly Fishing Expo is set for Dec. 5 and 6 at the WNC Agricultural Center. This two-day fly-fishing extravaganza provides anglers a forum to sharpen their skills and learn about the latest innovations in their sport. It’s become the Southeast’s largest event for fly-fishers, averaging more than 1,000 visitors over the course of the weekend.
The expo will feature local fly shops, angling organizations and fly-fishing art, while companies such as Simms, Orvis, Scientific Anglers, Fishpond, Nautilus Reels, Montana Fly Company and Sage will showcase the newest gear for 2014.
This year’s featured speakers will be renown fly fishing experts addressing the distinctive tactics for fishing in this area, from trout fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains to casting for redfish in the Low Country to angling for musky in the Southeast.
The Southeastern Council of the International Federation of Fly Fishers (IFFF) is sponsoring the 3,200 square-foot indoor casting pond. Certified casting instructors will instruct attendees of all skill levels on technical casts and guide them through the course.
Hours for the 5th Annual WNC Fly Fishing Expo will be Friday, Dec. 5 from 12 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and free for children 15 years of age and younger.
With the immense fly fishing opportunities around the Southeast, the WNC Fly Fishing Expo has selected a vast array of fly fishing professionals to share their knowledge and techniques with you.
Fly Tying Clinics
Professional fly tyers from around the region will be demonstrating fly tying throughout the expo giving you an opportunity to sit with them and learn practiced tying techniques.
Fly Casting Clinics
The Southeastern Council of the International Federation of Fly Fishers (IFFF) will have casting instructors available to instruct attendees of all skill levels on technical casts.
