Hank Patterson

Funny guy Hank Patterson is a “world renowned, self proclaimed fly fishing expert and guide. He is a high school graduate, makes a hell of a nice pot roast and owns three copies of “A River Runs Through It” on BluRay. Snap It!”

Known for his award winning hilarious spoof videos on being a fly fishing expert and guide, Hank has brought to light the humorous side of fly fishing. His YouTube channel alone has over 11k followers and his videos have been viewed over 1.7 million times!

As a Trout Unlimited, Project Healing Waters and Orvis ambassador, Hank has contributed many hours to supporting these organizations through out the country.

Patrick Folkrod

Patrick is the owner of The South Holston River Company, a full-service guiding organization that caters to beginning and experienced fly anglers alike. Patrick is an excellent instructor and his zeal for guiding folks to trophy brown trout on the South Holston and Watauga Rivers is well known. Don’t let his young age be confused with inexperience; Patrick was honored as the Orvis Endorsed Guide of the Year in 2014.

 

 

 

Jeff Trigg

Jeff is the owner/head guide of Ozark Sweetwater. His passion for fishing started at a young age, fishing the local farm ponds and creeks. This passion turned into an obsession when he discovered fly fishing. Jeff has traveled the states extensively in pursuit of any species that will take a fly.

Jeff enjoys every minute on the water, whether it’s on the local tailwaters in search of a large predatory brown trout or chasing smallmouth on the smaller streams in the Ozarks. He works well with anglers of all skill levels and his goal is to always teach his clients’ new ways and techniques to catch the fish of a lifetime.

Active in the local fly fishing community, Jeff is a member of the Federation of Flyfishers, Trout Unlimited and past president of Capital City Flyfishers. He is also a member of the Sage Elite Pro Staff, a certified casting instructor through the FFF and the sales rep for Towee Boats in Arkansas and Missouri.

Josh Laferty

Captain Josh Lafery is a native of Roanoke, VA and has been pursuing game fish in the Old Dominion for over three decades. As a professional musky guide and owner of South Valley Anglers, Josh offers an in-depth look at Southern musky, including and inside out approach to studying these freshwater predators accompanied by tactics and techniques to maximize your time on the water.

Captain Josh has been featured in multiple publications, radio interviews with NPR and appearances on “Musky Hunter TV” with Jim Saric as well as “Pursuing Esox” by Austin Green.

 

Abbi Bagwell

Abbi Bagwell grew up spin fishing Southeastern lakes, ponds, and rivers for anything you could catch on a worm or hotdog, but picked up a fly rod and dove headfirst into the fly fishing world after becoming the Director of Operations and Events for WNC-based Flymen Fishing Company over four years ago. You may know her as #somestreamerchick from the Flymen video series, from her contributions to Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine’s “Fridays On The Fly” blog series, or from WNC conservation efforts – she serves as the Vice President of the Pisgah chapter of Trout Unlimited. She’s been featured in several fly fishing publications for her enthusiastic work to get more women into fly fishing, and co-hosts several women’s fly fishing retreats. Abbi makes fly fishing less intimidating and approachable for novice to seasoned anglers alike.  She’s never too proud to make fun of herself and the nuances of a her passion for angling.  It’s all about keeping it fun!

 

John Miko

JMJohn Miko is the founder and owner of Unreel Fly Fishing LLC, an Asheville based guide service dedicated solely to tenkara style fly fishing. He is part of Tenkara USA’s Registered Guide Network and a member of the American Fly Fishing Trade Association. John teaches, guides and speaks on tenkara throughout WNC, most recently at Trout Unlimited’s National Teen Leadership Conference. John moved to Asheville some years ago following career as a Coast Guard helicopter pilot.   Starting as a boy in Key West, FL, he has spent his entire life fishing, 25 years of it fly fishing, the last 5 of which have been focused almost exclusively on tenkara.   John is also the current President of the Land O’Sky Chapter of Trout Unlimited and is actively involved with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.
